What The Point is

Trump National Golf Club, Charlotte is at 120 Trump Square, Mooresville, and describes its course as a 7,495-yard Greg Norman design.

The club's own site links The Point Owners Association, Inc.

The association's covenants require every owner to carry at least the club's social membership, and those dues are the club's, separate from the association's own.

The covenants sort lots as waterfront, water view, water access and off water. A water access lot comes with a boat slip on one of the association's piers, leased and not owned; the association owns the 23 piers and 498 slips.

Sconset Village, one section of The Point, has gates on its private roads and pays an assessment of its own on top of the general one.

The Point sits on a peninsula in Mooresville with 18 miles of Lake Norman shoreline around it, by the association's count. Lots are generous, most at least three quarters of an acre, and the landscaping is grown in, so it feels spacious. There are six walking trails, a big Village Green, and streets grouped into villages with New England names. Every owner is at least a social member of the club, and the association has an activities committee planning events all year, so it is easy to meet people.

HOA dues: $2,075 a year, as of 17 February 2026, by The Point Owners Association. That is the general assessment: Sconset Village, pier and boat slip charges are on top of it, and so is the club's social membership. It is not gated. About 867 lots, by The Point Owners Association, which counts 12 of them undeveloped. Lots: waterfront, water view, water access (a leased slip comes with it), off water. Dues change every year; confirm them with the association before you rely on them.

The club: Trump National Golf Club, Charlotte. Its membership and its fees are the club’s own, separate from buying a house.

Schools serving The Point

Buying or selling in The Point

The Point suits somebody who wants lake life and a built-in social circle in one place: their own dock, a view of the course, or a wooded lot with a slip down the pier. It suits less well somebody who does not want a club bill, because every owner carries one.

The Point questions

Which towns are actually on Lake Norman?

Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, Mooresville, Denver, Sherrills Ford and Troutman. Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville are in Mecklenburg County; Mooresville and Troutman are in Iredell; Denver is in Lincoln; Sherrills Ford is in Catawba. Which county you are in changes your school assignment, your taxes and sometimes your commute, and it is the first thing to settle.

How far is Lake Norman from Uptown Charlotte?

By road, about 14 miles from Huntersville, 20 from Cornelius, 22 from Davidson and 27 from Mooresville, measured from each town center to Trade and Tryon on OpenStreetMap's routing. The miles do not change, but I-77 at rush hour does, and I would rather you drive it at half past seven on a Tuesday than take a number from me.

How many people live in the Lake Norman towns?

Huntersville is the largest of the four main lake towns at 68,535 people, then Mooresville at 55,842, Cornelius at 35,094 and Davidson at 16,662. Those are the Census Bureau's estimates for 1 July 2025, its V2025 vintage, as QuickFacts publishes them. Each of the four has grown by between ten and twelve percent since the 2020 census.
