What this covers

This policy covers www.sunnyyates.com, operated by Yates Realty, 19900 W Catawba Ave Ste 205, Cornelius, NC 28031. The property search at search.sunnyyates.com is a separate application run by a third-party provider under its own privacy policy; when you follow a search link you leave this site.

What we collect

Only what you type into a form on this site: your name, email address, telephone number, the property address if you are asking for a valuation, and anything you write in the message box. We also record which form you used and when, and whether you ticked the consent box.

This site sets no advertising cookies of its own. If analytics are enabled, they are loaded after you interact with the page and record aggregate usage, not your identity.

Why we hold it

To answer you. Sunny Yates is a licensed real estate broker and uses what you send to respond about buying or selling property. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers who deliver our email and text messages on our behalf.

When you send a form, what you typed is stored the moment you press the button, with the time, the form it came from, the wording of the consent box and whether you ticked it. The internet address and browser the request came from are kept with it as a record that a person sent it, and are not shown to anyone. Sunny Yates and the Yates Realty staff who answer enquiries read it on a private page of this site that only their own accounts can open. It is used to reply to you and for nothing else. To have it deleted, email sunny@yatesrealty.com.

Calls, emails and texts

If you tick the consent box on a form, you agree to be contacted by Yates Realty by call, email and text about real estate services. You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP, get help by replying HELP, and unsubscribe from emails using the link in any of them. Message and data rates may apply and message frequency varies. If you do not tick the box, we will not text you.

If you make an account

Saving a home needs an account, and an account here is an email address and a password. We send one link when you sign up, to check the address is yours, and one more if you ever forget your password. Each works once and for fifteen minutes.

What is stored is your email address, a scrambled form of your password, the MLS numbers of the homes you have saved, and the dates you signed in and last visited. Not the addresses of those homes, not their prices and not their photographs: those are read from the MLS feed at the moment the page is drawn, so a listing that is withdrawn stops being shown rather than sitting in a table of ours.

Your password is never stored, here or anywhere. What is kept is a value worked out from it that cannot be turned back into it, and that value is then locked with a key held separately from the database. Somebody who took a copy of the database could not test a single guess against it.

It is used for one thing, which is showing you your saved homes. It is not used to email you about listings, it is not passed to anybody, and it is not combined with anything else.

The Delete my account button on your account page removes all of it at once: your address, your password, every home you have saved, every session and any link already on its way to you. It is immediate and there is no copy kept.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while there is an active conversation and for as long afterwards as North Carolina record-keeping rules for licensed brokers require. Ask us to delete your details and we will, unless a record has to be retained by law.

Your choices

Ask for a copy of what we hold, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing sunny@yatesrealty.com or calling 704-737-1732.

Children

This site is not intended for anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
